GODBG is a Maryland-based figurative painter working throughout the DMV region. Rooted in a background in formal realism, his work constructs psychologically charged environments that examine systems of authority, ritual, spectacle, and contemporary mythology. Working primarily in oil, GODBG is known for symbolic narrative paintings that merge classical structure with unsettling contemporary tension.

His paintings often depict staged ceremonial spaces populated by ambiguous figures, institutional architecture, animals, and symbolic objects. Through recurring themes of hierarchy, devotion, collapse, and transformation, the work interrogates the invisible systems that shape human behavior. Rather than offering fixed interpretations, the paintings operate as open psychological theaters, inviting viewers to confront uncertainty, contradiction, and the instability of meaning itself.

GODBG’s work has appeared in juried and finalist exhibitions including the Fredericksburg Center for Creative Arts, Falls Church Arts, Virginia Beach Art Center, Core Art Space, Holt Russell Gallery at Baker University, and the Bauhaus Prairie Art Gallery. His work has also been featured in publications including Salann Magazine and Biafarin. He currently maintains an independent studio practice in Maryland.
